How to help our children to stop the negative thought approach toward challenges of life?
There is a huge treasure with us in the form of the stories we have around, there is a need to tell these stories to our children and unlock the secrets behind them.
During Mahabharat, Arjun had lots of questions in his mind and most of them were negative and discouraging. Shree Krishna as a Guru helped him to out of these.
Two powerful things shared in Bhagwat Gita are:
- Karm kar fal ki chinta na KarDo your best and don't worry about the outcomes and results. This would help us to give our best and perform our tasks stress-free.
- Multi-thinking- This comes naturally to everyone. We have one main thought which is generally negative. Shree Krishna suggested to have Calming parallel positive thoughts to replace every time a negative thought comes to us. We as parents can help our children to think about positive things. Say "Perform your best", "take it step by step", "Keep trying", "you will be able to do it" etc so that the children will recall all these positive thoughts whenever they encounter a challenging situation in life.
- Resilience- taking challenges as opportunities to grow and learn.
