Sometimes we find business and marketing advice in the most unlikely of places! I was recently reading the first few chapters of the latest book my husband is working on when I was hit with some fantastic insights. Although his book has nothing to do with business and is entirely fiction he illustrated one of the biggest marketing mistakes that I see so many clinic owners make.
It's a messaging problem. When people start their businesses, they are inspired by their passion rather than their clients' needs. Passion is great and essential, but it's also vital to be as direct and straightforward as possible.
To build a following and client base, we have to say the things our customers want to hear, not just what appeals to us. In addition to that, we have to commit to a niche. This is incredibly hard in a private practice setting when you're taught everything under the sun while in school. But if you want your business to fit your lifestyle, you have to have a specific ideal client in mind.
I'm going a little more in-depth on this topic in this episode, and I suggest you tune in so that you can make your marketing message as crystal clear as possible!
