In today’s episode, I chat with Richard Dasselaar, Digital Transformation & Strategy Leader, at Modern Dental Group, a worldwide medical device manufacturer and distributor. Based in Haarlem, Netherlands, Richard also sits as Section Chair for Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Cardiology Working Group, for the International Society for Telemedicine & eHealth, and is a Researcher, Advisory & PhD student in Digital Health Strategy, with an emphasis on value based care at Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam.
More than his impressive credentials, Richard is passionate about improving our world, dedicating much of his time solving for conscious equitable implementation in the healthcare sector. This was the catalyst for a wide-ranging discussion about global demographics, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, virtual reality, and the importance of service in realizing a fulfilling life.
We talk about his latest research, work, and its implications to a world desperate for tangible solutions. In most developed nations, the population is aging at rates expected to place very real pressure on healthcare systems. Without meaningful action, the constraints on finite resources seen during the pandemic are a prelude to what we can expect in the next 5-10 years.
Beyond that, we talked about the motivations for his selfless approach to problem-solving. A true multidisciplinary professional, Richard seamlessly blends his experiences in economics, marketing & technology to sell innovation to a population that, at times, has been resistant to change.
It was a fascinating discussion, and I’m eager for you to listen. In doing so, I hope you enjoy our conversation, as much as I did recording it.
