aka how Oakland deserves better...
This episode ... ok I am going to admit, it's not going to be for everyone.
.
.
.
It's about a boy who had a favorite baseball team when he discovered sports. It ends up being about a guy who loses that team as an adult from it's home city. Ok, yes, it's me. I been watching this happen over the past 20 years and not surprised how it ended. But it doesn't make me less upset about the matter.
.
.
.
But why did it happen? Was there a way to avoid this? Who was to blame? Were there any parties innocent? I feel it doesn't matter now, but couldn't help but revisit and break down all the facts out there. There's a strong narrative that Oakland can't have a sports team because it's so damaged in it's infrastruture and development. But that couldn't be further from the truth.
.
.
.
Bottom line, a baseball team, beloved by the fans of the city, resilent, and overachievers could not overcome their situation and their pitiful owner.

I love the A's. I love their green and gold color scheme. Their news of their impending relocation made me so angry and I feel compelled to tell you why there could never be a happy ending for this team. And who knows, maybe the story isn't finished. But it sure seems like it is.
