When we turn from pleasing our heavenly Father, and seek our own way, we lose joy, but confession is God's mercy and grace to us. When we repent and confess, God is faithful and just to forgive. Like the Prodigal we can go to our Father and confess that we have sinned before Him. In this way we can receive forgiveness and rejoice in God.
