How to Make STEM More Attractive to Students | STEM Education Tips

Listen Later

As you may be aware, the state of STEM education in the United States is concerning.

According to recent data, only 16% of American high school seniors are proficient in math and interested in pursuing a STEM career, and a staggering 2.4 million STEM jobs go unfilled.

Moreover, 40% of companies report difficulty filling STEM positions, and the STEM workforce in the U.S. is estimated at 8,650,000, with 84% being white or Asian males and only 10% being minorities.

These statistics are deeply troubling to me, which is why I am so passionately committed to equipping educators and parents with the tools they need to inspire their students to pursue STEM careers.  In today's episode of the Kantis Simmons Show, I share five strategies for making STEM more attractive, appealing, and likable to students.

I encourage you to watch the video and let me know if you have any other ideas for promoting STEM to students or children.
