No one wants to experience trauma, but the reality is everyone will deal with transformative events at some point in their lives. How can you survive difficult times and change for the better because of them? How can you impact other people positively when they're going through a tough time? On this episode, entrepreneur and podcaster Scott Morris shares how he's learned from transformative events.
Three Things We Learned:
- Transformative events can change your path
No one wants to go through a traumatic event, but a good way of looking at these events is by believing everything happens for a reason. Your experiences enable you to connect with others differently, and have the ability to influence how you decide to live your life.
- Remember: everyone is going through something
It's difficult to look at the bigger picture when you're going through a traumatic time. However, remember that you're neither the first nor the last person who will experience it. You'll continue to grow because of it, and it can actually be useful for you to know that you're not alone.
- Impact others
Touching other peoples' lives is extremely fulfilling. Aim to do things that enhance the lives of those around you. Learn more about your friends, family and even your clients. It's always a good idea to know what people are going through- not only will you understand them better, but you may be able to help them out.
Everyone will have different experiences in life, the reality is you're never alone. Engage with others and acknowledge that you're not the only person dealing with something unsettling. Of course it will be a difficult path, but you will grow and move forward.
