“My partner, Tamber, she is a mom of two, and she says that, ‘Beach volleyball, playing every day makes me a better mother.’  Because she can go and take out her frustrations in practice or have a different outlet to look at and has things to pursue, she wants to be a good athlete, dedicated person for her children.” 17:04

“That’s to me, what I would want to communicate to the next generation: whatever you are putting up there, make sure it’s really you.” - Wendy @ 25:43

“I had a little bit of a problem in my career, like mixing up the final goal with the journey. You really put it into perspective when you don’t play anymore.” 28:35

“You gotta find the things that matter within that journey.  The journey ends up being the final destination because we can’t really control the outcome, we can’t really control the end goal, but we can control small things throughout and we can control what we’re paying attention to.” 29:20

“I do come from more humble beginnings so I do have to kinda have to work harder to accomplish my goals.  Putting in that work gives me confidence to succeed.  Kinda like I can do that.  I’ve proven myself wrong many times, so I can continue doing it.”  42:34

“One thing that I’ve learned and one thing I would go back and tell my younger self to do and my younger athletes: you can be confident without being cocky in the sense that you believe you are good and you’re not comparing yourself to anyone else.” 43:35

“Compete with yourself, collaborate with your community.” - Wendy @ 45:40
