One of the perils of buying from online marketplaces is that you can get things that do not comply with any safety standards.
These popular universal power blocks with USB are a good example of that. They are not made to any level of safety standard and pose a genuine risk of causing fire and shock.
Before disposing of them, unplug them and cut off the plug, then chop the hideously dangerous cable into pieces so nobody "finds" it and tries to use it. Then throw the whole lot into the bin.
Now you can go to ASDA, Walmart or any other prominent seller that complies with local regulations, and pay a bit more for one that won't kill you or burn your house down.
