Remote team management is not a skill in-office managers automatically have. Managing a remote team requires an understanding how to organize meetings, work flows, and coaching staff in a time efficient way. Remote employees do not want to sit on awkward Zoom conference calls while everyone provides an "update" or keeps the rest of the team "looped in". If staff that are in a video conference to have something to contribute, they should not be in the meeting at all.
