How to manage the stress of training with HRV

Coming up is a clip from an interview we recorded with Simon Wegerif, founder of Ithelete, who introduces us to the concept of total load, stress and recovery. At one point Simon mentions HRV, which stands for Heart Rate Variability- a means of tracking your heart rate which can help tell you how stressed your body is. It’s really useful for knowing when to take a rest day or when to go out and push yourself with some sprints.
