Achieving new maxes in your strength training can be challenging, especially when it comes to figuring out your true maximum and avoiding the risks that come with maxing out. One solution is to use rep max charts which can give you a more accurate portrayal of your max strength. This approach allows you to build a safer workout plan by figuring out your 10 rep max, and then increasing weight and reps over time. By building this base, you can then attempt your max with less guesswork and less chance of injury. This approach allows you to aim for a specific goal, like a 300-pound bench press and progress safely with less guesswork and more accurate assessments.
