How to motivate yourself to do the work

Are you struggling to find motivation?

At the end of 2023, I needed a break.  

And I thought that once I got it, I would feel better. Refreshed. More

motivated.  

But when Jan 2nd arrived, I didn't feel like doing any of the work that I knew I needed to do. 

I thought maybe it's just this week. It's a short week, I'm still in holiday mode.  

(so I put my sweatpants back on and ate some more cheese). 

I thought that for sure next week I'd feel like doing the work. 

Then the next Monday came around and I still didn't want to do anything.  

Eventually, I realized:

I need to stop waiting around to feel motivated.

Motivation isn't guaranteed. And truly, it often just isn't there for a lot of us.

But we still want to work towards our goals. We still want to pursue our dreams and reach for more.

So we need to motivate ourselves to get off the couch, put some real pants on, and do the things that will get us there.

In this week's podcast episode, I'm sharing all the things I do to motivate myself when I'm just not feeling like doing the work, including a couple that are hilarious but truly work.
