For reasons lost to the shrouds of time, annual apartment leases in the City of Madison universally expire on August 14th and new leases are signed on August 15th. The result is a chaotic 24-hour period of temporary homelessness for thousands of Madison residents, known as Moving Day. As Moving Day descends upon the city once again, we bring tenants some advice about how to protect their rights. WORT listeners know Carousel Bayrd as the Wednesday host of A Public Affair.
