His range of assignments has included board formation,  succession planning and all facets of family business consulting.   

He has started four businesses and was a partner in a private equity firm. Mr. Werner is an experienced outside director, having served on numerous boards during periods of growth, restructuring and crisis management. In addition to his public speaking, Mr Werner publishes two monthly columns at Forbes.com and FinancialPoise.com. Mr. Werner’s new book, Your Ownership Journey, is scheduled for release in March 2022.
