How to Overcome Fear - Part 2

Fear on a practical level is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat. A "belief" is an acceptance that a statement is true or that something exists. 

 You are fearful because you believe XYZ. Not because fear actually exists...

So what can we do about fear:
4) Stop Beating yourself up - If you call yourself names, or put yourself down consistently, you will just avoid more. Because in doing anything, you risk doing something wrong. This behavior is sure to rob you of confidence. The problem is that sometimes you secretly believe that you are absolutely right to beat yourself up this way. You  believe that beating yourself up is an effective strategy to get you going. Wrong. It just demoralizes you.

5)  Find an encouraging voice - Develop the knowledge and skills that make your dreams come true. 

6) Tackle the monster all at once - Acknowledge the fears, and stay present. What ever has us afraid hasn’t actually happened yet. Here and now, we are safe. Past and future are in the mind only. Become aware that we are dreaming ALL the time. We are 99% always somewhere else. If you have the awareness that everything that’s happening to you is the results of what you’re believing and thinking about, then you can begin to change it.
