How to Podcast: What's an RSS Feed?

How to podcast: How do I get my podcast on all the platforms?

You’re all set to release your podcast to the world, but how on earth does this happen?

By the end of this episode you’ll know what it is, how it works, and how you can use it to get your podcast in all the places so that each and every episode reaches your listeners every single time.

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. Your podcast has an RSS feed and this acts as a means of connecting all your new episodes with podcast directories.

When you subscribe to a podcast the RSS feed is added to your podcast app.

The podcast app regularly checks the subscribed RSS feeds for any updates. When a new episode is detected in the feed, the app automatically downloads the episode, making it available for the listener to enjoy.

Podcast directories to connect to:

Spotify

Apple

Stitcher

TuneIn

Amazon Music

iHeartRadio

Podchaser
