After the great fish swallows Jonah, the prophet recounts the moments after being thrown overboard. Jonah's dying prayer was to call on the Lord and desire to see Him once again. God answers his prayer, sending the fish to rescue him and save his life - resulting in Jonah's restored praise. This passage shows how Jonah prayed to God in the midst of the consequences of his backsliding. Christians would do well to search this passage and see how they should pray when they find themselves in a season of running from God.
