When it comes to the capital markets, many don't know where to start. And with the advert of technology people have the ability to trade and make money online, by buying shares or investing in promising companies. This is sector is not without casualties, some evil market players have caught unsuspecting individuals and even the elderly, getting off with their hard-earned money. Jack Kanyanga is the Managing Director of a broker firm. Hear it from the experts on how to succeed in this sector and what pitfalls to avoid. He is a church deacon at Lusaka Baptist Church.
Jack, the Managing Director of Stock Brokers Zambia Limited (SBZ), is responsible for SBZ’s day-to-day-operations, as well as leading, implementing and executing the company’s strategy. He joined SBZ in June 2018 and brings with him over 10 years’ experience as a portfolio manager with a leading regional asset management company. In this period his work in investments has covered the broad spectrum of the Zambian economy and a deep understanding of the Zambian capital market through participation in IPOs, underwriting mandates, capital raising, money market investing, real estate development. As the LuSE celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2019, Jack believes passionately that it must be repositioned for accelerated growth and improved liquidity – and looks forward to SBZ playing an active role in providing timely support to help its clients secure success with their investments.
