Pre-production is a collaborative process. Your customer is the subject matter expert, and you are the storytelling expert. How do you start assembling a joint project? Amina Moreau explains that you do it on the ground floor, in pre-production. You have to build a foundation of understanding. Start with the question, why are we doing this? Work with your customer to identify the purpose and the theme and then fill in the blanks. 

Audience impact starts in pre-production. Make sure you have the right people in the room, and then get to work.
