#SodiumTrimetaphosphate: It is used in tooth polishing agents and used in synthetic dairy products. It is used in detergent processing, water softeners, sequestrants, emulsifiers, food additives, textile processing, and laundering.

HUMAN EXPOSURE AND TOXICITY: Disodium salts such as the metaphosphates are toxic because of their excess alkalinity rather than from sodium excess.

ANIMAL STUDIES: Rats fed diets containing this chemical, high doses had adverse effects on kidneys. Growth retardation was also observed in rats fed this chemical in diets.
