There use to be a time, not so long ago, when atheism was the belief system that dared not speak its name or make its presence known. But, that’s not the case anymore, the kind of influence it is having on our popular culture is much more than what we have usually seen. It will be an intentional flight from reality on our part if we ignore the resurgence of interest in the case against God. The question of God’s existence is back in the forefront of public dialogue, which is seen in the form of best-selling books, billboards, bus campaigns and public debates, and has spurred a generation of agnostics and skeptics. Not only this, they have also disturbed the hearts and minds of many believers. And now, that we’re encountering it often, many Christians find themselves ill prepared to counter the challenges offered by this kind of muscular atheism.
