There are rules to spelling of words in English and to spell rightly, you must know these rules. As simple as it seems, without knowing the rules, spellings can be frustrating especially if you are in a spelling bee competition. These rules are: 1) Know the correct Pronunciation of words. 2) Know the number of syllables in the word you are to spell. 3) Spell your word according to syllable. Examples : fa-ther, cou-ple, ther-mo-me-ter, ni-ge-ria, smile, cup etc
