How to Start a Business: Step 4... When the Going Gets Tough
You might have heard someone say about starting and running a business, "If it were easy, every one would be doing it."
I think most of us know it's not going to be easy but I wonder just how many of us realize how hard it's going to be.
I know I didn't at the beginning.
And over time, I know many a business owner who has said, "If I knew it was going to be this hard, I probably never would've done it."
And yet, sunk cost fallacy kicks in and they have too many irons in the fire to walk away so they just stick with it hoping something will change.
I was once at that point where all I could do is put 1 foot in front of the other and hope eventually a miracle would happen to make my business easier. Literally, I woke up each morning and thought, "Okay, all I can do today is put 1 foot in front of the other."
Turns out the minor miracle did happen and it wasn't a big customer or a viral video. It was something unexpected, as your might expect from a miracle.
