ABOUT MEGAN TE BOEKHORST:
For over a decade, Megan te Boekhorst lived with mental illness. Megan had been diagnosed with Depression and Binge Eating Disorder. Mental illness has impacted her work, her relationships, and her long-term health. Megan's experiences have fueled my purpose: to change the narrative on how we view mental illness. Today, Megan is in recovery from my Eating Disorder and well-versed at managing her Depression. She is a fierce mental health advocate, a mental health tarot card reader, a Mental Health First Aid Facilitator through the Mental Health Commission of Canada, and a mental health coach. Megan is a settler living and working on the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish and S’ólh Téméxw Peoples. Outside of mental health, Megan passions include community building, getting creatively messy, and her furbum Jefferson Smudge te Boekhorst. Megan is the Chair of the Hope Pride Committee, a member of the Hope Inclusion Project, and a Neighbourhood Small Grants committee member.
