Pacific Legal Foundation attorney David Deerson explains their case before the US Supreme Court that will decide if governments can profit from property seized over delinquent property taxes.

The case at hand is Tyler v. Hennepin County, where an elderly woman was unable to keep up with the property taxes on her condo. The local government seized the home, sold it, and kept all the proceeds even though that exceeded the amount of taxes due. Currently, this practice is legal in Minnesota.
