What do you do if you're kidnapped? And what do you do when your family refuses to pay the ransom?

Francisco Bedoya shares his story of being kidnapped by the militia in Honduras in 1989. He was a young man at the time, traveling to Honduras for business.  Francisco and his driver were stopped by the army and taken to a ranch where they were beaten and held captive. They were eventually taken to a phone to call Francisco's father for ransom, but his father refused to pay. 

Francisco formed a connection with one of the soldiers which became a lifeline in the midst of chaos.  In this episode Francisco reflects on the impact of the kidnapping on his life, including the importance of relationships, forgiveness, and the power of resilience.
