In this week's episode of 'The Queer Quest Podcast' we have on queer author and sexual abuse survivor Michael Caven to share stories from his upcoming memoir 'Spilling The Tea'.
Michael has had an interesting journey to say the least and the main topics we discuss in this episode are:
~ His younger years growing up in a vulnerable position that led him to be groomed by a male teacher when he was just a teenager to then being sexually abused and exploited
~ This leading to him getting caught up in drugs, alcohol, and seeing himself as a sexual object in order to get what he needed to survive
~ Getting into a relationship with a much older gay man who then became a mentor to him and helped him turn his life around
~ Going through rehab and therapy with a gay therapist and realising he needed to face the predator and take him down so he could no longer do this to other young boys
~ Life afterwards where he opened up the first LGBTQIA+ themed restaurant in the USA
This eye-opening chat is not to be missed and we honour Michael's courage and vulnerability in sharing his story with us.
You can follow along to find out more of Michael's journey and details of his memoirs release at www.michaelcaven.com
