Dear Artist,
In this video tutorial, I share one of the most important shifts and practices that has helped me keep creating, keep showing up, and keep moving toward what matters most.
For a long time, failure felt incredibly personal. It made me second-guess myself, hold back, and put too much pressure on every step.
But over time, I found a gentler and more powerful way to work with it.
A way that helped me stop seeing failure as proof that something was wrong with me, and start seeing it as part of growth, part of the process, and part of bringing something meaningful to life.
If you’ve been holding back because you’re afraid of getting it wrong, being judged, or putting your heart into something that might not work, this lesson will help you transform your relationship with failure.
What You’ll Learn In This Lesson
* How to move through failure without shutting down
* How to stop treating failure like proof that something is wrong with you
* How to expand your dreams and your capacity to handle setbacks
* A specific process to transform failure into power
* A 5-step practice to process disappointment, shame, and self-doubt
Time To Integrate (Journaling Prompt)
Write a letter to the part of you that still believes failure means something is wrong with you.
How old is that part of you?
What was happening in their world when they first learned it might not be safe to get it wrong?
What does that part of you need from you today?
Where did it learn to be so careful, so guarded, so afraid to make a mistake?
And what might soften if you met that part of yourself with more compassion, patience, and love?
In Closing
Failure is not proof that something is wrong with you.
It is an essential part of the path.
Part of learning. Part of growing. Part of bringing something meaningful to life.
Failure is not the end of the story.
Sometimes it is the very thing that helps you find your way forward with more wisdom, courage, and self-trust.
Big love,
D
PS: Want To Make 2026 Your Breakout Creative Year?
I’m beyond grateful that the first 5 cohorts of The Creative Sanctuary have sold out.
There is 1 cohort left in 2026. It begins in July, and it will likely sell out as well.
I’m not sharing this to impress you. I’m sharing it because I know how many brilliant, caring, gifted people keep circling back to the work that matters most, only to have fear, self-doubt, and perfectionism get in the way.
If that’s been your pattern, this is the kind of space that can help you change it.
There are 3 spots left, and early-bird pricing ends June 01. ($500 off)
This is 12 weeks of 1-on-1 coaching to help you build more clarity, confidence, and momentum around your gifts and the work you feel called to share.
Whether you want to launch a book, start a paid Substack, create a course, or bring a long-held dream to life, this is the kind of container that helps you stop retreating every time fear shows up.
We take it from someday to shipped.
If you want 2026 to be the year you stop holding back and start bringing your work to life, this is the container.
