Rule 1 is a description of what golf is. A basic dive into what your aim is when playing golf, how you start and finish the game, what a ‘round’ and a ‘course’ is, and in what manner a player must behave. Golf also requires everyone to play by the Rules and call Rules breaches on themselves, that is a big part of what separates golf from most other sports.
