Proverbs 3:27-29
27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in your power to give it.
28 Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come again,
tomorrow I will give it”—when you have it with you.
29 Do not plan evil against your neighbor,
who dwells trustingly beside you.
Blessing others Gives us purpose
Prov 31:8-9 – Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.
Proverbs 4:16 – “For they cannot sleep unless they have done wrong; they are robbed of sleep unless they have made someone stumble.”
Blessing others blesses us
Prov 22:9 – A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.
Prov 11:25 – A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.
Prov 21:13 – If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered.
Prov 28:27 – He who gives to the poor will lack nothing, but he who closes his eyes to them receives many curses.
Blessing others blesses God
Prov 19:17 – He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward him for what he has done.
Matthew 25:35
35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
[When did we do that Jesus?]
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Matthew 22:37-39 – ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments

Luke 4:18-19
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
Philippians 2:5-11
5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be held onto, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross
9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
