Elizabeth Leiba was born in the UK, to Jamaican parents with African and Jewish lineage. This transplant to the southern United States has every right to stay out of the fight for justice and equality.

Although she has felt the effects of racism, domestic violence, and sexual abuse firsthand "Liz" still speaks up and speaks out. She still endures threats, insults and ridicule for her willingness to speak up on the behalf of others.
