Literature obeys one time-tested rule. You do not replace proper names in anybody's book or any document. It seems as though European Bible Translators do not get it. Bible writers carefully listed the names of their people in what I call the begets lists.

It is a list of Israelite genealogical records tracking the people's ancestry to the Garden of Eden. They did not include Arabic, European, or Chinese names because the same record can be used to track ancient Israelites in the modern world. The Israelites saw these other people as gentiles and not deserving of their friendship. Injecting European names into the Bible creates the impression that the Israelites were Europeans.
