Trese was steeped in Filipino Folklore, but it showed much more than just the Philippines' myths and legends. In this episode, we discuss some of the themes and elements that only Filipinos or those familiar with the Philippines would understand in Trese. We also discuss how key characters in the series helped flesh out a version of the Philippines that feels just as real despite its fantastical elements.
