This adds another level of complexity to her portrayal of Trudy. The actress claims that before any filming could start, she had to train for three months. She obviously put that preparation into her role. She won't be recognizable to the audience as a professional marathon swimmer. 'Young Woman and the Sea' still warrants a few remarks here and there. A duration is excessive. There are some pacing issues throughout the movie. A couple moments in the movie drag on, especially in the first hour. The movie could have simply been cut down to fifteen minutes. Furthermore, the song lacks originality. The soundtrack to "Young Woman and the Sea" is about as mediocre as it gets.
