A multidisciplinary team at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre successfully performed a liver transplant on a four-month-old baby boy in November 2025. The baby, weighing just 6.2kg, was the youngest and lightest recipient recorded in the country. We speak to some of the surgeons and the anaesthesiologist from the team to find out why this was one for the history books, and how they hope to see transplant medicine in Malaysia develop.
