On this episode of MarketScale’s Online Learning Minute with host Brian Runo, Runo takes a look at how, with the COVID-19 pandemic forcing universities across the country into a sudden remote and online learning strategy, many didn’t quite live up to expectations.
Namely, Runo highlighted a shortcoming in planning and building robust online materials specifically tailored for remote learning, many universities simply posted existing content and called it a day.
In addition, universities have simply held meetings and classes through traditional channels, such as Zoom, which don’t deliver true engagement.
Instead, as remote learning continues to be the standard even as the world returns to normal, Runo said universities needs to double down on planning initiatives, online best practices and tailored materials, making online courses a more integral part of learning moving forward, and more.
