I almost didn't go. I did, and I came home with a notebook full of notes and a question I can't put down. God, if you're listening, I'm sorry I haven't been paying attention.
Keep growing.
The first episodes on this show were me talking before I had a clean place to put it. This one is the hinge.
I wrote How Wildflowers Grow is a messy women’s memoir about childhood trauma, addiction and recovery, emotional abuse and domestic violence, motherhood after leaving, and dating apps with a twin mattress. A nearly two-decade relationship. I don’t tidy the ending.
From here out, this show is the after. Calling people first. Fewer friends on purpose. Walking with my head up. Sad-movie nights. Keeping my boys out of the dating life. Still here.
