Brisbane hosting the 2032 Olympics will likely boost the local tourism industry through increased visitation, improved infrastructure, global exposure, and long-term growth.
Professor of Practice at the Griffith Institute for Tourism and ex-CEO of the Queensland Tourism Industry Council Daniel Gschwind told Sofie Formica on 4BC Afternoons, "We all have a hook to connect with the Olympics and make the most of it."
"Certainly in tourism, the opportunity, the pipeline from tourism is incredibly beneficial to the state and to the community, and it doesn't take much for us to make more of that and the exposure we get."
"As you said, it puts not only Brisbane but Queensland, even Australia ,on the map in a much bigger way than ever before," Mr Gschwind.
