I was a 1st-year student at AIHM Chandigarh when I earned my first 300 rupees for working at an ODC (Outdoor Catering). 

Then later, while studying at The Hotel School Sydney I took up several part-time jobs (ranging from washing cars to selling insurance) to support myself. 

I didn’t need to put myself through this extra effort.

But I wanted to. I chose to.

For self-reliance is a wonderful thing.

And these experiences have enriched my life and helped me develop a strong work ethic.

I hope this episode will inspire youngsters across the world to take charge of their lives and learn the value of self-discipline and self-reliance.
