His commitment to community and service has earned him numerous awards and honors, including - but not limited to - the Compassionate Gladiator Award for Strength, Skill, Drive and Heart from the Florida Justice Association (2016) and the Jacksonville Business Journal’s Lifetime Achievement Award (2017). He served as a member of the Florida Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission in 2008 and the Florida Innocence Commission in 2010.
