The Human Rights Watch “World Report 2022” has called out leaders in democracies saying they should stop paying lip service to the fight against autocratic states. Among the leaders mentioned by name were US President Joe Biden, former German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron. The organisation says leaders often speak in fork tongues when it comes to issues of conflict and their oppressive counterparts.
