We are so fortunate today that we have so many different ways to learn. Every media has lots to teach us about photography and the creative life. That said, in thinking about my 50 years of learning, there is no question that the most effective media I've experienced is people — which is why I am such an advocate of tutors and mentors, the closest thing we have today to apprenticeships.
