In episode 112 of How To Matter, I continue the series on helping children with school and learning problems. In this episode, we focus on three signs of school and learning problems. For these signs, although they may suggest learning problems, they usually do not. Rather, they are simply part of normal child development. The signs are forgetting to do home work and other chores at home, having trouble understanding and following directions and instructions, and problems with time management. Each of these signs may be serious indications of learning problems but usually are not. The message is that children tend to follow the examples set for them by parents and others in the home. The first step is to be sure the example being set is positive. Children can hardly be expected to do better than the adults whose example they are following.
