Carroll Bogert (AB '83, AM '86) is president of The Marshall Project and previously deputy executive director at Human Rights Watch. Before joining Human Rights Watch in 1998, she spent twelve years as a foreign correspondent for Newsweek in China, Southeast Asia, and the Soviet Union.

She was awarded the 2019 Centennial Medal Citation by Harvard's Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, the highest honor bestowed by the school to alumni in recognition of outstanding contributions to society.
