True humility stems from knowing who God is. The clearer our vision of His majesty and greatness and power and glory, the more we will be humbled in His presence. Pride begins as a subtle distraction that causes us to take our eyes off God and depend upon ourselves. Humility keeps us focused on God and gives us a more accurate perspective. As we continue to focus on God, our confidence and trust in him increases.
