BEING RICH AND FAMOUS was my ultimate goal in life! At the Arcata High Talent Show audition, my guitar playing demonstration was finally cut-off after ten minutes by an exhausted group of judges!

Whether it's through fame, attention, manipulation, debt, or outsmarting the competition to win at all costs, there’s a big part of us that selfishly desires to have our own way; to get what we want - all the world can offer us! The "world" being our surrounding culture’s value system apart from God.

But there's a problem with that, and James spells it out in Chapter 4; “Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God?"

Whoa! What do we do? How should we then live? How to: Life?

Could it be that depending on God in honesty and humility, rather than pride, arrogance, or even self-confidence is what truly leads us to wholeness? This Sunday, we'll experience the forgives and grace that sets us free and gives us life!
