Hundreds of homes flooded as Bundaberg river peaks

The Burnett River peaked at 7.4 metres in Bundaberg, Queensland, inundating hundreds of homes and businesses at major flood level. Nearly 200 people spent the night in evacuation centres, 2,400 properties remain without power, and eight schools are closed. More than 15 flood warnings remain active across Queensland, with peaks still expected in Chinchilla, Charlie's Creek and Longreach over coming days.
