On July 4, President Trump signed the budget reconciliation bill, which includes cuts in NY of more than $2 billion from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), worsening food insecurity and threatening the sustainability of our nation’s largest and most effective anti-hunger program. 2.9 million New Yorkers rely on SNAP to put food on the table. Thirty percent of New York’s SNAP participants are children, and thirty-one percent are seniors or people with disabilities.
