June 1 is right around the corner, which means the time is now to prepare for the 2021 hurricane season. This season is expected to be an active one. AccuWeather is predicting we will have 16 to 20 named storms this year. Of those, seven to 10 will be hurricanes. Of those predicted hurricanes, three to five will be Category 3 or above.
Hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30. But if you remember, last year we had our first hurricane in May. Joining our Prepare to Care Podcast to help us ready for possible storms is Ekland Durousseau with the American Red Cross Texas Gulf Coast Region.
